Nintendo DSi XL (LL) is bigger better?
Nintendo’s newest portable console has consumers asking is bigger really better?
Just months after Nintendo released the DSi (April 5, 2009) which boasted camera capability, flashy new casings and MP3 function… comes the newest handheld, the DSi XL!
The newest DSi XL model is both larger and heavier and will set buyers back $189.99!
Nintendo’s previous handheld price points: DS Lite retails at$129.00 and Nintendo’s DSi at $169.00.
While the DSi XL is already available in Europe, U.S. gamers can look forward to a March 28, 2010 release date! New DSi XL titles are set to drop May of 2010 and include Super Mario galaxy 2, WarioWare: D.I.Y. and America’s Test Kitchen: Let’s Get Cooking to name a few.
The DSi XL will have all of the same features as it’s predecessor, 2009’s DSi.. it’s literally a larger model with few new capabilities. Among the DSi XL’s upgrades are 4.2 inch display (that’s 93% bigger than the DSi!), larger stylus and ebook reader.
Too good to be true? Maybe…
Buyers planning an upgrade to the new DSi XL can kiss their current collection of DSiWare games goodbye… No device or internal feature has been implicated to transfer DSiWare games to another portable, meaning the more than 2.2 million DSi users will have to repurchase their entire DSiWare game collections… BUST!
Though bigger is always better, the XL’s size might leave some gamers scratching their heads, the console looks bulkier and just isn’t a pocket sized portable.
Nintendo DSi XL comes in 3 colors White, Bronze and Burgundy.
