Alien Vs. Predator Demo Review

Alien Vs. Predator Demo = Super Awesome Fantastic Fun Time Forever!

It was released on Feb. 16 2010, and the demo was out for a few weeks prior. The amazing thing however is that the multiplayer demo still works. For me anyways can’t say for every person in every time so zone. It is a dandy time online I will admit..if you know what your doing of course. I myself have grown up on movies, comics, and video games of A, P, and AvP. So it was fairly easy for me to slip into character so to speak and whoop up on some faces as they say. That and the game being somewhat unbalanced helps a lot too. I kind of hope they fix the balancing issues in patches in the full retail game. Then again kind of not at the same time. This is because of the fact that the Predator is such a badars nearly unstoppable powerhouse induces true fear in the pore sobs that either willingly chose a separate class or simply got stuck due to race balancing, which can be easily edited quickly in a game you create.

The AVP Demo is also quite fun early in the mornings as well. Why? Because newbs mostly come out at night… mostly. That’s right 10 year olds with microphones. 10 year olds mind you that shouldn’t really be playing that game demo in the first place, but hey billy wants blood and violence  so billy’s gonna get blood and violence.

Is it truly “Epic and Visceral” talking head truly? Or are you just a puppet of the “man” in this case the Predator trying to goad more newbs into his slaughter house of ownage?  Granted the sound affects are amazing and give you a true sci-fi thriller feel especially when you catch an enemy run past a corner. The gore is also a plus and looks great on the Ps3. However online games don’t last too long due to balancing issues. Until you get the hang of all the classes the predator seems nearly unstoppable. I must admit I do get a bit of joy from walking around invisible, watching hapless 10 year olds wander around aimlessly like Forest Gump looking for Jenny in a warehouse of death.

That’s not to say tho it can’t be challenging. All of the races can be quite devastating if used correctly. For everything other than Aliens the game plays out like halo, “run to the best weapons possible, take them, and finally spam them like the newbs that you are. Or hide like a girl and wait for two people to start fighting and then clean up the aftermath.” However with some of the predator weapons you can actually use some clever strategy with your weaponry. Humans more or less basically uses the same strategy as halo.

Aliens quite unique. They have the ability to see through walls, they also have the ability to suck at life so any frontal confrontation usually ends with you dead, and your opponents genitals in your face. So you pretty much gotta hide like a new fish on the line n watch em through the walls till ya get a chance to shank em in the back.

I can’t say much for the finished game other than I hope its much better than the online demo. I myself judging from the demo will not be purchasing the game for quite some time. I do eventually plan on buying it after all the demo itself is well made and enjoyable. Though it is crap compared to the old PC version, but hey its only a demo. I plan to play the free demo until they decide its…

After I will likely purchase the game from it’s inevitable bargain bin dome.  Which I suggest any game, and AVP fan alike do if they are as particularly tight and unable to purchase games.  Covering the fact that it’s free, it lets me play online with newbs, its graphically pretty, and with great sound to boot. So I’m gonna have’ta give it 7 flame-thrower newbs out of 10.

The full game is pretty nice needs a patch to make matchmaking a little faster. It’s still “unbalanced”, but I play an Alien aka the weakest and can kill predators toe to toe. Just takes practice/skill…it’s no where near as unbalanced as some make it out to be. Just a matter of know your characters capabilities. I highly recommend it though.
